È uscito Internet Explorer 7, ovvero il browser predefinito di Windows Vista, in versione per WinXP, con tutte le migliorie richieste e necessarie. Se però è vero che IE resta il browser di riferimento come motore di navigazione e di rendering delle pagine, è anche vero che l'interfaccia della versione 7 è rigida e poco personalizzabile. Ed ecco che entra in gioco Maxthon 2, il browser che acquisisce da IE il motore e le novità, ma con la versatilità e la chiarezza estrema dell'interfaccia più personalizzabile e funzionale. Il motore usato è quindi quello di IE già presente nel sistema, mentre il contorno è fatto di funzioni come l'anteprima miniaturizzata di tutte le pagine aperte, lo zoom della pagina, un sistema di accelerazione della navigazione, l'ottimizzazione delle risorse di sistema, maggior filtro e protezione nei confronti delle vulnerabilità di Internet Explorer, diverse configurazioni per diversi utenti e tutte le caratteristiche introdotte in passato col 1° Maxthon per cui ho scritto già un articolo (che invito a leggere, se già non lo conoscete). Mi resta solo da dire che la versione beta del Maxthon 2 è già un piacere da usare e funziona molto bene, pu mancando di alcune funzioni che troveremo nella finale. Sicuramente la finale sarà anche meglio, considerando inoltre che il team di sviluppo presta molta attenzione alle critiche e suggerimenti fatti nel forum dagli utenti. Ancora una cosa che a molti farà piacere: oltre a essere gratuito e senza elementi di fastidio come caselle di annunci pubblicitari, il Maxthon 2 pesa meno di 2 MB e questo testimonia una grande attenzione nell'ottimizzazione del codice.
